The Borders Distillery has introduced cutting edge technology designed to transform its production operations, marking another milestone as it prepares to unveil its first single malt Scotch whisky.
Partnering with leading consultancy Catalyst ERP, the Hawick based distillery has implemented Bottle ERP, a cloud-based spirits management solution that enables full end to end tracking, from grain sourcing to bottling. Powered by NetSuite, the system integrates production data, quality assurance, cask management and warehouse logistics through WMS Go, providing total transparency across the whisky making process.
Established in 2018, The Borders Distillery brought whisky production back to the Scottish Borders for the first time since 1837. With its first single malt launch approaching, the adoption of Bottle ERP forms part of a wider investment strategy aimed at sustainable growth and international reach.
David Shuttleworth, Distiller at The Borders Distillery, commented:
“Implementing Catalyst’s Bottle ERP is just the beginning; we’ve laid down a foundation to build our virtual distillery on. It’s transformative, proof that collective thinking and collaborative working can drive technological advances in whisky.”
Nathan Cahoon, Chief Operating Officer, added:
“Bottle ERP allows us to follow every step from ingredients through to cask and bottling, proving provenance and quality for consumers worldwide. It’s tradition meeting technology.”
Catalyst’s Sam A’Bear said:
“The Borders Distillery is leading by example, showing how data and craftsmanship can coexist to deliver traceable, world class whisky.”
The forthcoming Borders Single Malt, distilled entirely from barley grown within 35 miles through the Borders Growers & Distillers programme, will embody the distillery’s commitment to regional provenance and innovation.
